The library has been housed in the "Smigator" cultural center since 1997. There is a section for adults and children alike and a playroom. Computers have facilitated and speeded up the basic librarian services. The library is spread over 94 square meters. This is the spot where all important cultural happenings in Sunja take place. The library houses about 7000 books. First public reading room was founded in Sunja back in 1901, and later in 1905, a Society of Croatian reading room was set up.
Parish community's meeting and bonding point is, above all, this parish church. The church is
a late baroque building built in a style of
classicism in 1824 on the spot where back in 1773
a wooden church was erected. Even prior to that, back in 1716, the parish was founded and a wooden chapel erected for that occassion.
Catholic congregation's meeting point is also an affiliated church of "Elevation of the Holy Cross" in Bobovac, built in 1930, along with a newly built church of "St. Martin" in Staza, which stands on the spot of a church devastated during the Homeland War (old structure in classicism style was a protected cultural monument from 1873). The faithful beleivers also meet in restored chapels in Greda Sunjska (chapel of the "Wounded Christ and St. Joseph", in Gradusa Posavska (chapel of the "Most Holy Trinity"), Letina Donja (chapel of the "St. Paul and Peter") and in Bistrac ("St. Mary" chapel). The parish has to undertake renovation of of the chapel destroyed in the war "St. Catherine" on the local cemetery and a chapel in Zreme, while the "St. John the Simple" chapel in Sunja has been rebuilt.
Most Reverend Josip Kovac, a canon, had been leading the parish over the years, until his retirement in 1995, when Reverend Bozo Pinjuh, a parson, took over. This new parish priest initiated ladies choir, Bible meetings, gatherings of the "The Blood of Christ Community", Parish Caritas. In September 1999, Parish pastoral and economic council were founded.
The purpose was to further spiritual life for all residents including refugees from Bosnia and Hercegovina. They were forced to leave their homes when the war thundered through their towns and villages in Bosnia and Hercegovina. Refugee life is a bitter one. Nonetheless, the refugees did not forsake their faith and need for spiritual nourishment. They pleaded that the masses be held in abandoned classrooms in villages around Sunja where the refugees settled.
All the parish events are directed towards one single goal helping the congregtion grow spiritully and easing the hardship of its parishioners.

Thanks to the initiative by Andrija Kozaric and Stjepan Matkovic from Greda Sunjska, trumpet music club was founded back in 1907, within the Voluntary Fire brigade Guild.
Musical activities thrived up to the First World War,led by the bandsmaster Lausman, and later Dolezal. In 1922, Mijo Crnkovic revived the brass band's activities. The next bandsmaster was Stjepan Vranesic.
Musical instruments were destroyed during the Second World War. Consequently, the Band closed its doors. Then again in 1947 Nikola Spoljaric revived the Band. This brass band was active during the Homeland War, though the 18 of its musicians were in the Croatian army.
At present, Fire brigade brass band gathers 20 members. The bandmaster is Marijan Blagic, a conductor and music teacher in the local primary school. He has been active in this role since 1974. He has trained countless young musicians amateurs- who lovingly offer a strong foundation by playing music and aim to preserve heritage and tradition of the Croatian farm labourer.

In April 2001, thanks to the initiative by the Rev. Bozo Pinjuh, Sunja parish priest, a ladies' choir was founded. There are 27 singers in the choir. The choir master is Marijan Blagic, primary school music teacher.
Prior to the Second World War, therehad been three choirs in Sunja: church choir, mixed choir by the Voluntary Fire brigade guild and a people's choir.
A youth choir which presented psalmody in memoriam of the beatified Ivan Merz (a holy person) originated in 1991.
